Sun cream

I have a quick question I'm going on holidays with my LO 2month old but I don't know if is ok to use sun cream on him or he is to young to use it. If it's ok to use it, which one would you recommend as he have sensitive skin 😕. Please any advice.

I dont think you can use suncream before they turn 6 m.o.

Not before 6months. They need to be kept out the sun completely. I've seen something about mineral sun screen being ok but you'd need to Google fot more info xx

It's not just about how sensitive their skin is, their skin isn't an effective barrier to keep the chemicals out of their body at that age xx

Thank you girls for all you comments. Yes I have seen this information before about NHS and I did read that, I can use suncream after the 6 months. My only worry is if I go for holidays and I have 2 other children to look after and is going to be impossible to keep him out the sun. But I will have to use umbrella all the time or something like that to keep the baby away from the sun 🌞.

@Marcela you can get UV protective clothing x

Try mineral suncream, they don't have the nasties, gentle enough for baby skin

I also was going by the rule that baby can’t have suncream on under 6 months however, when I spoke to my health visitor, she told me to suncream on my baby if out in the sun so have used it since. A lot of people recommend the child’s farm one. We use the Tesco soleil baby one and we’ve had no problems. I did test a bit on his ankle first though just to check for any reactions x
