Blurry vision and constant head pain?

Hi everyone. I was getting blurry vision intermittently up until recently where it has become almost constant. I struggle to read or look at anything for long. I suggest with migraines and they have increased lately. But this past week I've suddenly developed what I can only call head pressure. It's on the top of my head and behind my eyes and it's pretty constant now. I'm also fatigued, and feel very weak and tired. I can barely get out of bed and I've been off of work for a week now, almost 2 if I include my recent annual leave. Could this all be peri? I went for an eye test yesterday due to the eye pain and even though my eyes were tested 8 months ago and I had no prescription, I now have a prescription for reading and using computer. Which is a pretty quick deterioration. I have seen GP and had blood tests, my liver function test came back with a bilirubin just over the threshold for the normal range. GP has said it's nothing to worry about and I can still take pain relief. But again this has increased since February when it was last measured when it read 9 points lower and just over half way in the normal range. I've seen 3 doctors this week. First said I had vertigo and gave me anti histamines. Another one said to try nasal spray and the 3rd just simply said I have a headache and to try paracetamol. I feel so frustrated and alone cos I want to find the cause of what is wrong but the GP looks at symptoms in isolation and prescribes different medications. It's so frustrating. I have HRT in my bathroom cupboard but I've been avoiding using it cos I wanted to get through this naturally, but I'm doubting my ability to do that now. But the thing is I've looked at the Everol Sequi patches I have and realised they are synthetic progesterone and I wanted the body matching ones. Is it not possible to get patches that are the body matching hormones as opposed to the synthetic? I really don't want to use the synthetic version. I always go for the natural versions of things where possible. As I suffer from migraines and digestive distress as well, I need the gentlest way to do things. Would love to hear others experiences. 🌹

Oh my god this sounds like I could of written this. I'm on Amitriptyline for the migraines/headaches but I've asked different doctors if mine could be perimenopause and they just keep saying I'm too young, as I don't have nightsweats but I have low thyroid so I don't know if that could be the reason. I've had these since I was 40 and all the doctors was doing was putting my dosage up on the Amitriptyline, but I called the GP up to ask if they could up it again as feels like it's stopped working, now they won't up it anymore. It's awful living in pain as I'm taking the Amitriptyline, ibuprofen and paracetamol and I still can feel the side effects. Have u been feeling sick at all? As I've been having a bit of nausea. The doctors have also asked me to keep a diary of it to see what could be causing it and to rate the migraine/headaches out of 10. Hope u manage to get the help u need for this as its bloody horrible and wouldn't wish this on anyone. Feel free to message me. Xx

@Rachel hi Rachel. I don't really get night sweats either. Mine have been pretty mild actually, I've probably had the odd one here and there. Migraines I've had since I was a kid, but they increased again once I past 40. My GP tried to put me on Amitriptyline too but I refused. The blurry vision and constant head pain is a new thing. I'm hoping the glasses the opticians have said I need will help. I have felt sick with migraines yes. When I got migraines as a kid I would throw up all day with them. They are horrible. I only take paracetamol, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. My periods seem to have stopped and so now things seem to have got worse. I'm so weak physically and tired and now with constant head pain, dizziness and blurred vision.

I suffer from blurred vision headaches feel like I am going off my head it's horrible on everol 75 patches helps a bit dr says I'm peri menapausal, it's horrible .

Yeah the blurry vision and head pain I am sure is fluctuating hormones. I’m on 6 sprays of lenzetto and I’m still getting it but only on this regime 7 weeks so need to give it more time. I’m a reiki practitioner and that’s what really helps me.

I had blurred vision and headaches but since being on menopause meds eye sight has got drastically worse to the point I can no long read texts with out my glasses on. I'm on varifocols

Oh bless ya hun. Do u feel u can hardly go on your phone without ur head hurting, as i like to plan my meaIs and look for recipes, but i cant really do that without it hurting now. I go dizzy too but doctors said mine could be to do with low blood pressure. Also my anxiety has increased loads and i have anxiety over the slightest thing and i just cant seem to conrol it. I'm still having periods but mine last like 2 days max, I think I'm in perimenopause and have been since 40 but first doctors said it was tension headaches with stress with planning a wedding and now they just keep saying I'm too young. Honestly though if u ever need to talk about it, always happy to talk. Xx

@Tracy so the patches don't even help? I have concerns about starting HRT and then it not even helping. Ugh. I really can't suffer like this as I need to work.

@Lynn Sloan this is disappointing cos I've heard a few people say they still get bad symptoms even on hrt. I have done reiki in the past. But I only ever learnt online through Udemy and so I'm not sure my activation was that legit. I would love to do it properly but I can't afford it.

@Sheila got worse? So hot helped at all then really. Is there anything that helps?

@Bella I’m not sure about online I went to a therapy centre and got attuned there. I honestly wouldn’t be getting through this if it wasn’t for Reiki. I think I was £200. Everything is so expensive sadly 🦋

The patches are helping me along with fluxotine to help moods and memory also take a multi vitamin every day green tea capsule. I am still taking a period not as heavy thank god

@Rachel hi, I literally forgot I wrote this post. Was so unwell then had to go back to work. Had no choice as can't afford to go on SSP. Yes, often I can barely look at my phone without my eyes going funny. I'm so tired and physically weak too. I think my symptoms started at 40 but they were different then. I'm on day 70 without a period. Are you not on hrt then? I would love to talk. I actually originally joined here to make friends, especially nearby as I don't have any. For some reason I always seem to have struggled with that. I was bullied a lot at school and I never really made any after that. Been let down a lot by people too. Sometimes I don't care and think I'm better off without, but other times I feel like I would love to have a close female friend. I don't know if that's hormones, but I've felt a bit lonely lately. At least for female Company anyway.

@Bella I haven't found anything yet that helps hot flushes driving me crackers

@Sheila that's the one symptom I'm not really getting. Mine is mostly digestive, migraines increased and fatigue.

@Lynn Sloan I would love to do that, but I can't even afford two hundred at the moment. It is, everything is too expensive.

@Tracy what multivitamin do you take?

@Bella my very first symptoms were digestive issues and severe head pressure. At the moment I’m still having these.

Hi @Lynn Sloan what were your digestive symptoms? Mine is bad wind and loose stools all the time. I used to sometimes get constipation but not really anymore. My stomach sounds like a volcano most days. I don't have the head pressure at the moment, it seems to be worst at a time I would have got my period. Not had one for two months now.

@Bella stomach aches wind too and I was having symptoms like IBS. I’m on lactulose and fibogel it’s helping a bit.

@Bella So so sorry for late reply No doctor's won't put me on it as with me not having night sweats and still having a period they think I'm too young, but showing other symptoms, just have to do a headache/migraine dairy for the dr and to be honest I'm just feeling so naft physically and mentally as i dont know if its a symptom but i seem to be getting body odour which makes me feel lovely(not). Oh bless ya hunni I know what u mean as that's why I joined peanut too and its shit when u feel lonely and I think with hormones/anxiety just feel like a ton weight on ur shoulders, as before I could talk to anyone and not care now I overthink everything and think oh god what if I've said wrong thing etc, it just doesn't seem as easy as before. Xx
