To salt or not to salt?

I was really strict with the salting of any of the food if my LO was eating the same meal but recently I feel like I've relaxed a bit with it. I will use salt and even soy sauce in my cooking and I will still give my LO it. I figure that now he is over 1 and he drinks sooooo much water he can take it. Obviously I don't go crazy but hey humans need salt in their diet! It's nice to be more chill with things!

My husband and I already didn’t use a lot of salt. I use salted butter and will follow a recipe but usually don’t add more salt to anything it says “add salt to taste”. We use low sodium soy sauce. Don’t eat salted meats like Spam.

@Stephanie that's good! Definitely keep up the good work and I hope your LO is loving eating all of your yummy food!

@Dora my baby surprises me! She ate spaghetti squash shrimp scampi last night including asking for and eating some of MY shrimp. 😆 My 4 year old is in a pickier phase; he is generally a good eater and usually tries new things but lately if it’s not one of his favorite things then he’ll say he’s not hungry without eating much. Sometimes that means he eats a giant breakfast because he decided not to eat dinner the night before. My meal philosophy is to always include one element I know the kids will eat so tonight that was raw veggies and a tortilla when I made fajitas (he prefers raw veggies to cooked).

@Stephanie that's a pretty mature palate your LO has! Well done mumma! My LO is teething at the moment and meal times haven't been fun with a grumpy baby! Hopefully your 4yo will start to eat a large variety of food again soon!
