Birth center at st Thomas?

Anyone used st Thomas birth center? What was your experience? I love the way Vanderbilt looks and all they have in their suites. What is the st Thomas one like? Anyone have where I can see it? The tour online looks like a hospital. Vanderbilt center doesn’t take my insurance. I’m trying to avoid a hospital birth. Thanks!

You can look online n also sign up for orientation bc you have to go thru that to go through the birthing center make sure your not high risk of anything bc it’s really for low risk patients . I’m at st.thomas now not for labor but they’re nurses are super nice but I was going do the birthing center but finds out I’m high risk sadly but I wish you the best it looks really nice and comfortable Iknow they have king size beds that moves and be adjustable to your liking . Nice tubs .

@Justice I can’t find anything online. It just gives a video and says it’s for the hospital. I’m not high risk!

@Carly I say talk to your provider get the papers and sign up for orientation you have to get it done in a matter of time before your due date and it’s a $25 fee for you n your support partner n whoever else wants to attend the orientation it’s a one time fee just $25

@Justice that seems like so much work to maybe not even have a room when I go into labor. Or am I just not understanding?

@Brooke that sounds awesome. But it also sounds like a lot of work and trouble to go through just to possibly still have to give birth in the regular hospital room or am I missing something?

I delivered in the birth center and loved it. Super supportive nurses and great comfortable facility. Their site said they have the gas & air and they did NOT so that was a bummer. But overall I loved it.

The best team you’ll ever have. They are so patient and understanding. They will do anything for you, inform for your knowledge, and kick anyone out you don’t want with you. :) I personally, had an amazing experience with my team. They always have permission to do something and patient first!!
