Owlet smart sock - is it worth it?

Considering the owlet smart sock for our first born but heard/read conflicting things on whether it's worth it. Does anyone have experience with it/used it and has any thoughts to share? TiA

Everyone I’ve seen talk about them say it fueled their anxiety and made it worse so I didn’t buy one. X Now I am a mum I see that it would have been a waste of money

Heard it has a lot of false positives. We went with the CuboAI as there's no loose bits that could come free in the crib and the breathing sensor seems really accurate. It's been really good, got a couple of false positives for his face been covered when he was wearing scratch mitts and he had his hand over his face but that hasn't been many at all.

I've heard a lot of parents saying it increases their anxiety because it produces false alarms saying there is no movement when in fact baby is absolutely fine.. I really wanted to get one but it has put me off, same with the angel care pads that go under their mattress

Made my anxiety SO much better! Worked so well, never had a false reading. Only thing I was concerned about was would I ever be able to have her stop wearing it, and I did! As soon as she was around 16 months I stopped fine. Kept it now for new bubs! It truly is a godsend ☺️ Xxx

I agree it also really helped my anxiety and allowed me to sleep so worth the money for me personally xx

I use it now on my newborn and I love it! I think without I would not be able to sleep haha but I do, I’m sure it makes me relaxed so my baby is more relaxed and let’s me sleep during the night 🤣 would defo recommend. Not the camera though as my sister had one and didn’t even use it as she couldn’t hear baby unless her phone was on the app etc so she just got a regular camera monitor x

@Samantha omg did the sound not work? I used to have the camera sound work in the background of my phone. So I didn’t even need my phone unlocked! Xx

Helped me to sleep at night and I still use it now- my little one is 7 months! I’m going to stop soon as when he sleeps in a vest he’s fascinated by the red light on his foot so takes it off in the night 😅

I’ve got the sock but can’t seem to bloody get it to connect to the internet 🤣 so haven’t been able to use it yet! But I’m looking forward to using it! X

I had a Snuza Hero monitor and that really helped me with my anxiety. My LG came home with low flow oxygen and an apnea monitor (which made a clicking noise) so when they were taken away I just couldn’t deal with the silence. There’s a volume button on the monitor for clicks and it flashes green on every breath. I never had any problems with it giving false alarms. It’s also cheaper too which is a bonus and you don’t need the internet or anything. It’s battery operated. I stopped using it around 6 months when I felt comfortable with her sleep. I’ve not used the owl sock but I did use a trace machine overnight for oxygen readings and that had a similar sock type thing and it did keep coming off/showing false readings whenever she moved too much.. which was all the time! 😅

@Olivia the sound worked but only on the app for some reason lol so she would have to keep her phone unlocked to hear any noises through the night 😂 xx

@Samantha that’s so annoying! I used the always sound setting, it used to scare the hell out of me if I forgot it was on that setting 😭😂 xx

We bought one and then never used it (our daughter is 10 weeks old now). When being pregnant,I was anxious and really thought I needed the sock but now that she's here and sleeps in reach and sight of me, I don't think it's necessary anymore. Plus I've heard of all the false alarms which would increase my anxiety.

I like it. It gives me peace of mind. If I had a monitor, I would just be running in there for every sound she made. Now I check the app and see if she is actually awake. I’ve never had a false alarm so I’m wondering if they have worked out the bugs by now

I couldn't live without my owlet. It was a game changer for me xx
