Drool rash

PLEASE give me any tips on how to soothe and heal drool rash. So far we have tried sudocrem, moisturiser and vaseline. I have also been cleaning and drying the area regularly and ensuring that bub has a bib on.

Try Parraffin cream

@Emily thank you!

How long has the rash looked like this? My son had it bad on his neck, lips, cheeks and even up to his nose for weeks and we tried everything you mentioned. It was like this for 6 weeks and we just couldn’t shake it. We went and got a prescription ointment from the GP and it took around 72hrs only to clear (unfortunately it has turned fungal from being wet all the time). Now we also use a barrier cream before any solids and use around 12 bibs a day too to keep it dry.

My son had a rash just like this! We were prescribed a hydrocortisone cream from GP but it didn’t do anything. We ended up taking him to a eczema specialist. We were prescribed Advantan to apply once a day and use Epaderm ointment 3-4 times a day ☺️ cleared up in 2 days. Now we just use epaderm twice a day and before solids.

Hemp cream worked like a charm for my bubba

@Ellen it was like this on Monday and settled yesterday but is now irritated again today. Can you please tell me what ointment the dr prescribed? I feel like I’m washing bubs non stop 😅

@Hannah can you please share a photo of the one you use and where you got it from?

@Hannah thank you!

Yep that’s the epaderm we use ☺️ you can get it at Terry White and Pharmacy 777. If you can’t get that, the specialist also recommends Dermeze or QV ointment (the purple one). But Epaderm was her first choice!

Pawpaw ointment?

@Lucy thank you so much!

@Jess I have been using Vaseline but all it does is soothe it momentarily 🥲

@Sam I might try this tomorrow! Thank you

It’s called elidel cream and it’s a steroid
