Sleeping bag guides - baby too cold

Hey, does anyone else’s baby get a bit too cold following the dressing guide for sleeping bags? It’s normally around 20 degrees in our room and so she’s meant to be in a long sleeved vest and 2.5 tog sleeping bag. However she keeps waking in the night and her legs are cold, so I think she’s waking up cuz she’s chilly (although the only way I can get her back to sleep is milk🙈). I’m worried about putting her in a sleep suit instead with a 2.5 tog at room temperature of 20, incase she gets too hot?! Anyone else do this? Am I worrying unnecessarily? Thanks x

My baby is in a 2.5 tog and a babygrow. No vest. Room is about 19. I think he feels just about right temperature wise.

Hey my little one has just gone into a 2.5 tog sleepsuit beginning of last week as we were having the same issue and he is sleeping so much better but I’ll be honest still waking up about 3ish cold even tho the room temp will say 19-20 degrees so sometimes he even ends up with a thin blanket on him too at that time x

Yeah i just think the guides are way off sometime. My boys room is 22 degrees at the minute as the heating is on but it always drops to 19 or so during the night which I think feels quite cool. He's wearing a vest. Sleepsuit and 2.5 tog. I go in a few times to check when the heating is on to make sure he's not too warm and hes fine x

I’m finding also too cold. The room is usually at 20 and drops to 18/19 overnight and I found that wearing a vest, sleepsuit and 2.5tog works best for my baby. Hands are sometimes cold but the rest of the body is warm.

Yes my boy woke last night when I’d switched to the 2.5 and a baby grow (no vest) he never ever wakes and was chilly so defo going best baby grow and sleep ag x

i’ve been putting my little man in a vest, baby grow and a 2.5 tog sleepsuit. not sure on the temp of his room but just go by if i feel cold. sometimes when i go in and check him his hands and face feel a bit cold so he has a blanket on too xx

My baby's room is around 20 degrees at night and we have him in just a sleepsuit and 2.5 tog. Will save the vest for when it gets really cold outside and the temp drops more overnight

i put my little one in vest, babygrow, 2.5 sleeping bag and blanket on top x

I try and keep to 19-20 in his room and he’s in a vest and Sleepsuit with a 2.5 tog. He usually sleeps through but if I just do the Sleepsuit without the vest he was waking in the night so I assumed he wasn’t warm enough x

We're using a babygro, and either a 2.5tog bag or a thin swaddle and waffle blanket (arms out)

Babies wear one layer more than what you are wearing - is the general rule. What are you wearing at night?

Our boys room is 20 degrees too and he wears a short sleeve vest and long sleeve pjs (top & bottoms) with a 2.5 tog bag, he never wakes cold and doesn’t get too hot. I think sometimes it also depends on the baby, some are warmer than others. Like adults too! I have to have our bedroom icy cold all year round in order to sleep and I don’t wear pjs!

19-20degrees and we put him in a baby grow and 2.5 sleepbag x

My little one is always one level above what those charts say. So her room is 19-20 degrees and she’s in a vest, sleepsuit and 2.5tog. Completely fine, and wakes/stirs if she’s in any less.

Thanks everyone for your advice! I dressed her warmer and she’s slept through the last 2 days! 🙌🙌
