How are we dressing baby for pram walks in this weather / temp?

I’ve heard pram/snow suits are a no, and lots of thin layers are best but I’m still confused. So would that be vest, sleepsuit and then clothes over the sleepsuit?? Like a jumper / cardigan and pants over it? Or no sleepsuit? Like could someone maybe give examples?? I just feel so clueless, ftm if it’s not obvious 🤣

I think snowsuits are made for pram walks etc. I’m also a ftm so might be wrong but I’m pretty sure you’d put your baby in a snowsuit to go out in the pram. I figured it would be a vest, sleepsuit, snowsuit, a hat and then a blanket as well as then the zip up bit from the pram and even a pram liner if you have one. Happy to be corrected if not the case but I thought the only thing snowsuits weren’t suitable for was the car seat x

I agree with Jay - pramsuits aren’t good for carseat but defo can for a walk in pram. I’ve only been out once! How I wish it was milder temperatures lol

Agreed, I think the issue with pram suits, is more around car seats fit and if you are going indoors e.g. a coffee shop. A lot of people don't want to wake a sleeping baby and therefore leave them in pram suit with risk of overheating. But really a pramsuit is ideal for this colder weather in the pram as long as you remove once indoors 🥰 I know that sounds fairly obvious but you'd be surprised how many people I've seen throughout winter in cafes with babies wrapped up for the elements. Lol

Thanks all, so just a vest and sleepsuit under a pram suit? What if I’m going in and out of shops like window shopping in town?😩 and how would you dress baby for baby wearing outdoors also?

With my first if I was in and out of shops, it was generally fine if not in for too long but if I was in a bit longer, maybe remove hats/hoods/ blankets. Baby wearing I always went with vest, outfit or sleepsuit and pram suit hats/hoods. Some carriers have covers for an extra layer, but baby will get your body heat as well. I always heard with my 1st that baby should have 1 extra layer than us, but really there is no hard fast rule, go with your gut, and you can always check baby's back or chest to check if too hot or clammy.
