A friend of mine has a son with severe allergies and sensitivities. She swears by Hipp HA. It is a German brand so I know you’re hesitant, but it’s helped him clear really bad eczema all over his body.
Imported formula is not safe and can be confiscated by customs with no refund. European hypoallergenic formulas aren’t even truly hypoallergenic—they are more similar to the “gentle” ones in the US. I’ve heard many parents have luck with Alimentum RTF. It’s the only HA formula without corn and is a thicker consistency which helps with reflux.
My girl has been using Alimentum for several months!
My son is the same we have him on Nutramigen. He has been on it since he was 6 weeks old! See if your doctor will give you a prescription for it. Insurance might cover it for you.
We use Elecare. Other ones such as Nutramigen aren’t broken down as much therefore can still be reactive to some.
@McKinley our pediatrician recommended several and mentioned sometimes babies don’t like the taste, so trying to figure out if anyone knows what tastes best!
@Angel we looked into Hipp but I’m hesitant
Puramino. Super expensive but life changing
Depending where you are I would be willing to give you a can of elecare for free if your local to Chicago or you could pay shipping!@Amanda
@McKinley how can you get a prescription? From the pediatrician?
We tried all the typical ones that our pediatrician recommended and my son still struggled! So we found a completely dairy free organic pea protein formula that he thrived on! It's an organic Ohio based company called babys only! The pea protein formula is marketed to toddlers but approved for infants! Our pediatrician cleared us to use it! It was perfect for our soon! The reviews were raving which is what convinced us to give it a try! They sell online and at whole foods!
We went through quite a few formulas, and finally found neocate an amino acid based formula
We use elecare!
