Hi I’m an aromatherapist 👋 cats can’t break down essential oils in the same way that our bodies can which can be harmful to them, so it’s best they are kept well away from the area you are using the plug in. Some essential oils can be harmful to dogs, these two should be ok but I’d still make sure your dog is kept away from it if possible. Dogs sense of smell is far greater than ours so it’s likely it will be too strong for them to want to go near it anyway. So as long as you try to keep pets away from the area and ventilate the room after it should be fine x
@Jessica thank you so much for this advice. I have a dog and a cat in a small house so I won’t use. I’m sure others will find this advice helpful too 🤗
We use this regularly as he seems to always have a cold! But, we don’t let the dog in his bedroom so he’s never been near it x
You’re welcome! I just looked up the ingredients and can see it contains eucalyptus and camphor which may not be safe for dogs so actually it’s best to avoid. It’s a bit of a grey area as to which oils are safe and which are harmful to pets as not much research has been done. What I do when my son has a cold is place a small dish of water and 1 drop of lavender oil on the radiator in his room, that might be an option for you instead? Again if your pets won’t be in the same room of course 😄 I also find the Calpol nasal spray helpful for clearing his nose x
@Jessica that’s a really good idea thank you x
@Katrina thank you for sharing x
I used it at my mums when we stayed for 2 weeks (she has a cat and a dog) and they were both fine. She has a small house also but we only used the plug in the bedroom and the pads only last 8 hours so we only used it for that long each night xx
I use it and have two dogs but keep the bedroom door shut but had no problems
I have a cat and a dog and did not know this! They both give the baby a wide birth and never see them near his room. Only used it 3 times in a year 👐
@Courtney thank you for sharing x
@Chloe thank you this has given me the confidence to use it 🤗
I use this, but our cats aren't allowed in the bedroom, so it's not an issue! Could you shut pet out the bedroom for the night?!
@Emma I do anyway just worried it would seep out the room and affect her in some way! But I will try that thank you ☺️
Following as I’ve been wondering the same!
