Vicks humidifier thoughts

I bought this hoping it would help with when my baby had a cold and was snotty. I really wasn’t impressed with it, I’m going to return it, was thinking about trying a different brand or something. I thought it made the room cold?! It was noisy Just didn’t make much difference?! Anyone else have one or have a better one?!

I tend to use the calpol or Vicks plug ins when my little one is snotty. The refills are a bit pricey but I use one for two nights and i think it makes a difference ☺️

I just use a normal humidifier and add in some baby albus oil x

So we use the Calpol plug in, but we don’t buy the Calpol inserts, we use the Vicks ones! Feel like they are more intense and help me with my blocked nose. They fit in there perfect!

I have a Calpol plug in I’ve been using too I thought it made my throat a bit dry but definitely helped with congestion!! That’s good to know about the Vicks refill pads as I can return the humidifier but not the refill pads and I bought a couple boxes so I’ll use those in the Calpol plug!! Thanks!!

Just put some vicks in boiling water in a cup. You can put as much or as little as you want in depending how strong you need it no need to waste money on these. This is what my mum used to do when I was a kid and I do it now when the kids are blocked up. Just stick cup or bowl of it under cot or bed

@Adele I admit I've done this but it's not recommended though 🙈 @Chloe I found snuffle babe drops in boiling water did the trick and that's their purpose x

I’ve got some snuffle babe, I’ll try that in future! How long are you all leaving Calpol plug ins on? She goes to bed at 7, I put it on about 5 so it fills the room. I turn it off when I go to bed at 9 but by morning she’s all congested again. She seems to be over the cold though but is teething and someone said to me teething can cause the congestion! 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Danielle may I ask why its not recommended. All I could find is it may splatter and cause a burn but I've never experienced that in all my years

I loved the original version of this helped me so much with my son. You need to descale and disinfect regularly for optimal use but this item was so important have ordered one for my bubba in the making. It was water only no pads or anything

I say put Vicks in a boiling pot and let them breathe it in from there. It’s cheaper and more effective!
