Term “boy mom”

I agree! boy mom just means mother of a son just like girl dad means a father to a daughter, it's simple. I'll admit it's sadly too common for moms to be weird about their son's especially when it's no longer appropriate to baby them. I've dated the son of that kind of boy mom and it really does suck 😬

I say boy mum because I have 2 boys and another on the way. So that’s what I am 😂 women use girl mum too but that’s not seen as a bad terminology so I don’t see why boy mum should be? It’s probably women who have it in for their MILs that make turn it into a bad thing to say!

They are def making it weird. Of course, there have always been mothers who behave in the way they described, and that was way before the term “boy mom” was coined.

Yeah, thats definitely just some weirdos talking to each other in that screenshot...I have 2 sons and 0 daughters... So I'm the mother of boys... Aka a boy mom. My sons get the same attention, love, and expectations as any daughter of mine would.

Totally agree with you! I see so much stigma around the word but literally, a “boy mom” is a mom of boys - why is it such a problem for it to be that simple 🫠🤦🏻‍♀️

I always thought the term boy mom was to mean that you had one or multiple children that are boys? I do agree though that some moms take it too far with their son's.. 🙄 my mil thinks the sun shines out of hers even though he's done some pretty awful things.. in her eyes though everyone other than him is in the wrong. I guess some people are also like this with their girls though x

I think it’s common to have boy moms who act like this lol. I think they maybe see their heir as their only source of lineage they had to raise and relate to their whole lives so I get it. (Just like my mil mother of 3 boys). But it doesn’t have to be that way by any means

I'm not a "boy mom" like that example you posted, but I am a "mother of boys". All I have are boys and sometimes you need dragon taming skills to navigate parenting boys. With that being said, my "mother of girls" also have needed the dragon taming skills. I don't think there is anything wrong to appreciate what you were given, but the screenshot is definitely terrifying.

I think boy mom means your the mom of a boy and girl mom - mom of a girl. Nothing more just that you are proud to be a mom of your son or daughter

@Famis Amis it’s called Lemon8 I found it for a totally unrelated reason but this came up because one of the interests I had was parenting

@Camille it’s almost as if there’s a major issue with showing sons love and affection. I agree that some moms take it wayyyyyyy too far but I think the majority of us just love and appreciate our sons..we aren’t trying to come before someone else in their lives when they’re the age to be with someone 😅😅

There are boy moms. And then there are 🤢boy moms 🤮 I don’t mind the term (I’d use “girl mom” if I had a girl too!), but some boy moms ARE weird. 😂
