Rochdale or Oldham

Hey. Just asking if anyone has been to either Oldham or rochdale hospital for their births. I want to have a water birth, but which one is best for this?.

Rochdale don't have a Maternity Unit anymore, they shut it a few years ago. I had my water birth at Oldham, the unit itself is great, they have a sofa that can be pulled out into a bed in the room, tbh I spent most of my time in the water pool 🤣 my friend had hers at Tameside and recommends that too

@Leonie is right. I signed to Rochdale but got told at my appointment I’d be giving birth at Oldham.

Didn’t have water birth but I had my twins at Oldham hospital I thought was a lovely hospital couldn’t fault it

I had a water birth at Oldham with my first and it was amazing. I’m due my second in 14 weeks and I’m hoping to have another one. The midwives was lovely and it was very chilled in the room x

I know you didn’t ask but North Manchester have a birth centre and labour ward, with rooms with a water pool.

Thank you everyone. I'm glad your have all said that about Oldham. It gave a choice on the badger notes so wasn't sure. ♥️
