People wear a badge when they’re pregnant? Whaaaatt I could’ve done that during my pregnancy ?!!!
I have been wearing mine since I was 9 weeks and I’m 14 weeks now. I have struggled in first trimester and my commute is really long. It’s really sad to see how many people (men in particular) who sit in the seats and turn a blind eye!
I started from about week 12, although all the trains I've been on there's been enough seats so far 🤷♀️
Thanks for your comments so far! My train is always full in the morning so I have to stand, but whenever I do stand near the priority seats, no one ever even glances up to check for badges … so I feel a bit nervous for that situation when I will have a badge on - don’t feel confident enough to ask them to give me a seat 😬!
I drive now but didn’t during my first pregnancy. I wore it for most of my pregnancy and I wasn’t really showing much until the third trimester. People still stood up for me.
I have my badge, but haven’t started wearing it. More because I haven’t told work yet, and if I bump into a colleague on the way to the office. I do sometimes wish I was wearing it because the train and underground on my commute is always so busy and sometimes I just want to sit down from how exhausted I’ve been feeling. Especially on the way home!
About 14 weeks I started to wear mine, only because I really needed to sit down after commuting back from work and no one would get up from their seat 😂 I also felt bad as I didn’t and still don’t look super pregnant but hey it’s fine. 🥰
In my last pregnancy, I found that other women were amazing at pointing out to people pretending to turn a blind eye and getting them to stand up. Wear it whenever you’re comfortable, but it’s never too early. Making a baby is hard work, you don’t need a bump to be feeling tired and achey! Also, from a safety perspective you’re better off sitting in case of any sudden stops etc. I’m 14 weeks and have just told work, so I’ll be wearing mine again now xx
thank you all! I have bitten the bullet and put the badge on for the first day! Wish me luck ♥️🤣
Good luck! 😅 I never wore it last time, when I was pregnant enough for it to be uncomfortable to stand people could Definitely see the bump. I find that no one looks or notices them anyway so there’s no point other than if you ask someone you can point to the badge or something, but you still have to ask 🤷♀️
I’ve been wearing it since the exhaustion hit (around 8wks) and if I’m feeling rough I have no issue asking whoever is sitting in the priority seat if they’d mind offering their seat to me. They always do when asked. I felt super weird about it at first but now realise those priority seats and badges exist for a reason and we are totally within our rights to ask for a seat if we need it!
Thanks for reminding me; just had a look online and ordering mine today. I’m 14 nearly 15 weeks by the way😂🤣😁
I started wearing mine at 12 weeks as the nausea and fatigue makes me feel quite weak. However I find men sitting in the priority seats love to turn a blind eye. But when I am bigger or having a bad day, theyll know about it and will hopefully feel embarrassed after I have to ask them to get up for me. They should feel ashamed tbh.
I have been wearing it since 14 weeks, more constantly from 15. I’ve never once been left to stand, but I do stare quite intensely at people. Lately I’ve had pelvic pain so I ask people to let me sit, you have a right to do so and nobody is going to say no 😂

I’ve been wearing mine since 10 weeks. Pregnancy isn’t about not being able to stand. It’s the tiredness, backache, dizziness and nausea. You have every right to ask for a seat. I had a man in a priority seat flat out refuse to give me his seat as he felt ‘pregnant women aren’t disabled’. Most people are lovely but some are so vile!
I would say that you need a seat the most when people can’t see the bump yet- so wear asap! I applied for mine 6 weeks ago but still don’t have it. How long did people take to get theirs?
I was the same but I started wearing mine as it helped to sit to relieve the pressure!
