Baby has outgrown the pram bassinet!

My 4 month old boy has outgrown the bassinet in our pram (we have the ICandy peach 7) he is just too long for it and the next step is the sitting up right position but he can’t sit up on his own yet and I don’t want to hinder his development or put strain on his spine. Is this the done thing to do if baby outgrows it? I know guidance is six months but I genuinely don’t know what to do and I can’t not use the pram!? Appreciate thoughts on this 🤔 Xxx

Most of the seat attachments go completely flat, so you could try that until he can sit up on his own. The back goes down and the footrest comes up x

From what I’ve read it’s more about head control than being able to sit up independently, to ensure that if they aren’t flat that the angle they are sat in doesn’t hinder their ability to breathe by crushing their windpipe at all. If they have good head control this isn’t an issue, but as Daniela has said most have the ability to lay the seat flat, I have an ickle buba pram and it can be set at 4 different angles including totally flat. We moved to this when our LG was 3 months because she just wouldn’t stay in the bassinet anymore as she was too nosey and I’d end up carrying her around instead.

i have the iCandy Peach 7 too and my son has been in the sitting position for a month now and he loves it, he never sits fully upright as it has various reclined positions xx

My lo has been in the seat unit since he was 3 months and i still don't have him sitting fully up, you have different recline positions including lying flat that you can use. These seat units can be used from birth when flat x

We have icandy orange and my girl has been in the seat since 2 months old because she hated the carry cot and I couldn’t cope with her just crying in it all the time 😂 she’s never been in the fully sitting up position I always have her lying flat and now I put her up a click but not fully upright x

I’m at this stage also, not soo much outgrown the bassinet but that she is super nosey - and have the icandy peach 7. Last few weeks I have been using the car seat attachment when going for short walks to see how she is in a semi upright position before moving to the next stage. If anything, she is trying to pull herself up even more so I feel she is ready to move onto the next stage now. She is also not able to sit on her own yet but has good head control. I was reluctant at first as guidance said 6 months but got to go with your instincts and as everyone is saying, you can always lie them down still using the recline function
