Eat your sweets with a meal, not on an empty stomach, you'll have a better blood sugar response. Also if you go on a walk afterward it will help a lot.
I just bout Yasso bars last Friday night because I was craving something sweet. 1 bar has 15-19g of carbs and 5g of protein and 13g of sugar. I had it for my Pm snack at 10pm. My fasting results the next day were within range.
Ok so I'm not sure about strawberry ice cream but I will say that I have had gestational diabetes three times now and I met with different dieticians all three times. They all recommended a half cup of vanilla ice cream with a spoon of peanut butter before bed to keep blood sugar up at night. And the most recent one I met with said I could have half a cup of ice cream if I was feeling really hungry between meals she also said to make sure it's the full fat full sugar one.
