First time birth - birth prep 🤰

Currently 30 weeks with my first baby and wondering when everyone is starting their birth prep like birth ball exercises/raspberry leaf tea etc - feel like I should probably start with something soon 😂

@Hollie luckily my back pain hasn’t been too bad as yet but definitely think I’ll start this weekend. I mean I’ve blown up the ball so my intentions are good 😂

I started with my birth ball around 20 weeks for pelvis and back exercises, dates is something that have always been on my diet so I eat them everyday for years 😂 and raspberry I think they say to start it around 32 weeks?

Nothing been proven to actually help thats what my midwife said 😁 but they say raspberry leaf tea from 36 weeks, when baby is nearly ready to come. Birth ball you can start now, it will help your back a lot 🙌

I started my peri prep stuff. And the suggested above but I’m 33 weeks

I started birth ball maybe 3 weeks ago as I had lower back pain and it seems to help a lot. I like to sit on it as well when watching TV as if it feels more comfy.I'm 30 weeks now.

I sit on my ball for comfort! Raspberry tea is best to start around 32 weeks with one cup a day up 2 at 34 and to 3 around 36! Also perineum massage if you’re aiming for a natural birth can be started around now too xx

Can I ask what the raspberry leaf tea is for? FTM over here, sorry if it’s a silly question 🙈

@Laura some people say it makes cervix softer, my midwife said it can make labor procesa quicker. But I have had it and had long labor and all kids after due date anyway, so can't say it works 🤷‍♀️😁

@Santa fair enough! Thanks for letting me know!

@Santa I thought the dates were to help soften your cervix, the raspberry leaf tea helps tone your uterus. I found it gave me more braxton hicks so I couldn’t ever drink more than one cup!

@it did not give me anything, I believe I could drink it like all day and still nothing 🤣 my friend had shot of castor oil and went in labor in 2 hours 🫣 but its not recomended at all 😁

Thanks everyone! The ball is out tonight while I’m watching tv 😂 think I’ll start on the rest in the next few weeks - can’t believe I’m in the final stretch now!

@Santa haha don’t fancy that! 😂

- Perineal massage from 34 weeks - Birth ball anytime - Rashperry tea from 34-36 weeks - Colostrum 36-37 weeks onwards - Seggy time near the time 😂 - Pineapple fruit after 38-39 weeks for me coz I didn’t wanna have baby before that Well they worked for me last time, hoping to do again but these are the things that helped. It’s different for everyone
