MOVING CA ➡️ TX

We are planning a potential big move this summer to North Dallas area for my husband’s career. I am born and raise in SoCal. All of my friends & immediate family are here as well. My mom is sick with a terminal lung disease and while it’s not there yet, it will be one day. With that, I am so extremely scared and torn about it all. I know it’s for the betterment of my family and my son and our little family will have so many more opportunities and an overall better quality of life (minus the weather). We do have my husband’s family an hour from where we plan to move & I have some college friends near the area too. I guess I’m just looking for some advice from others who have experienced similar moves. Also, anything that will excite me or perk/things to look forward to living out there. We are currently in San Diego and have so many wonderful things/places at our fingertips. The weather is perfect nearly 80% of the year and that is something that really affects me. Any advice there too is much appreciated! Blessings!
