How to clean and sterilise nuby cool flask

Hey girls so I've asked multip5times in my socials but don't get the answers I need I've also googled it, so with the nuby cool flasks I've had them about a month but still haven't used them as I don't know how to clean and sterilise the lids, the stickers on top says something about not getting them wet, can someone please help so I can use formula instead of the instant formulas when we go out, we go out atleast once a week whether it be daytrips or coffee dates! I'm literally looking for a step by step and out it in dummy terms for me(excuse the pun) Thank you!

I sterilise mine with the Milton tabs and boiling hot water. Shake around and leave for a while. Mine always come up gleaming. Wether that’s the right way I don’t know but I’ve had no issues xx

You take all the parts out and clean it like you would clean anything then it can go in a cold water steriliser, like the Milton one x

I literally just washed mine with soap and hot water under the tap then filled the flask with boiling water to the top put the lid on give it a good shake and then poured the water out and put the lid back on honestly that probably isn’t the way your supposed to do it but that’s what I did xx

Thank you girls, I wasn't really worried about the flask it's the lid I'm panicking about, like it won't damage it or seep through to the batteries or anything? I've got Milton bottle wash and Milton tablets and the Milton sterilise bucket, so just wash and sterilise like normal? X

Hi I’ve been using a nuby cool flask since my little one was born for when I’m out and about as we use a prep machine at home and works the same. You don’t have to sterile the flask I just wash it is hot soapy water then rinse but I don’t put the milk in the flask. I take hot water out in a flask and then put it into the bottle at how ever many ounces you want then tip the hot water into the rapid cook flask but leave 2/3 oz of hot water in the bottle like the hot shot with prep machine then pour the formula into the hot shot of water and shake. Once the water is cool in the rapid cool flask add it to the bottle and jobs a good un just like the prep machine! Xx

@Jodie thank you!! Ah it's such a faff with the instant all the time cause I feel like I'm wasting so much of it too cause she's only on 5 ounzes and we just use our prep machine at home too! Ah amazing I'll be adding the milk into her bottle once the waters cooled anyways, thank you! X

You can use cold water sterilising or UV they just can’t go into a hot steriliser but you can wash them with hot soapy water☺️. I’ve tried the hot shot method with it and it still made the bottles way too hot for my little girl to drink - I tested and it was over 50 degrees so I just use it as intended and put the formula and hot water into the flask. I actually love mine now they’re so handy. You need to wait 3 hours before using it again after it’s been sterilised though so I would defo have 2 ☺️

I just use hot water I never put milk in the actual flask iv been doing it that way from birth never had any problems at all I think everyone does it differently x

@Jodie explained it perfectly that’s how I use mine x

@Kayleigh amazing that's what I was after haha! Yeah I didn't want to do the hotshot cause they already set the temperature correctly anyways so found it odd to then add boiling water to it! Yeah I bought 3 of them for this exact reason🙃🤣, we're usually out for 2/3 feeds so didn't want to be limited and rushing home, thank you!! Xx

Everyone uses it and does it different. but I found if I didn’t do the hot shot then formula wasn’t dissolved and there was lumps in the bottle and stuck in the teat and milk wasn’t coming out! You’ll find a way that works best for you with it😊

I do Milton cold water and the lid I take off the rubber bit to clean and dip in Milton but the lid I just quickly dip and dry immediately

@Beth I do the same as Jodie! I don't want to put formula in there incase I need it more than once on a day trip! We use ours over our in laws, faster than the kettle!

Thanks girls with the lids do you all just do the quick dip and dry or can you leave it with the bottles? :) my main issue and worry are the lids :) x

I would leave it for the full 15 minutes as that’s how long Milton takes to sterilise everything. ☺️

@Kayleigh thank you!! That's soo helpful, I was just so scared I'd somehow break the lid😭🤣🤣xx

Just use the hot shot method then you don’t need to sterilise x

@Beth I’ve accidentally left the lid in the Milton bucket over night (12 hours)🤣🤣 still works perfectly x

@Jordan ah great I always leave my bottles in on accident if there's no room on the drainer for more🤣 this is the answer my soul needed! X

I always just put the lid and bottle in Milton cold steriliser. Just set a 15 min timer and take the lid out and it’s fine
