Shave before c section

I am having an elective section 39+1 and in the information leaflet is says not to shave before hand. Its part of my daily routine, even at 37 weeks 😂 so I am just wondering if anyone knows if they mean that morning, day before etc, whats the shave cut off ? I don’t want to be a hairy canary until necessary 😂

I was told to not shave from a week before the date. Risk of infection is higher if freshly shaved

Yep! Same advice and info I was given as above with my first in 2022 👍🏻

I’m having a c-section next week and not been told this 😳 I also shave daily in the shower and never had a problem when I had my first (although it was an emergency c-section rather than planned). I’m still going to keep shaving

Well jealous that you can reach! No chance here🤣

I’ve been told not to shave from a week before also because of infection and risk of cutting yourself

I haven’t had any info about this at all! And at this point I don’t think I will until my pre-op appointment which is 2 days before 🧐

My advice letter tells me to shave the day before.

Wow y’all still able to shave yourself? That ship has sailed a long time ago for me🫣😂

On my paperwork it said no shaving from 10 days before the c-section

I don't know how all you ladies are still managing to shave! How about a wax or some hair removal cream is that not allowed either?

I had waxing the week before! They shave it for you anyway in surgery
