Reg milk

Hi mamas! My big boy just turned 1 yesterday 🥺🥺 I was just wondering how some of you made the switch and introduced your baby into regular milk?? I only drink almond or oat milk because I’m kind of lactose. I do want to give my baby 2% reg milk being that it has all the nutrients babies need, and see how that settles with his stomach for the first few days/weeks. Just curious to hear other first time mamas stories! 1st birthday fun in the water 🥰

My lil guy just turned one Wednesday and I’ve been slowly transitioning by giving him 1/3 milk w his formula then 1/2 and now I’m at 2/3 milk & 1/3 formula so we’ll be to full milk within the next day or so .. he seems to be doing good so far w it but he also doesn’t like much food cuz of textures for some reason so idk what to do about tht til we see his dr tomorrow .

@Nikki I like this idea! I think I will try this. Happy belated to your little one 🥳🩵 Ugh that sucks I hope he breaks out of it and you figure out a solution!

@Jul no problem! Just try every step for like 2 days or so each is what I’ve been doing tht way it gives enough time to see how he’ll do w more milk than formula . & aww Thnk u! Happy bday to yours as well ! I’m hoping he’ll grow out of this phase soon , but I’m prob gonna give him like toddler formula once a day as well once he’s completely on just milk so I knw he’s getting enough nutrients he needs til he starts eating more of our kinds of foods lol cuz right now he prefers those puréed pouches but when it comes to foods being in solid form he’s EXTREMELY picky 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

@Nikki thank you 🥰🥰 and he will grow out of it. It’s all so new to them. Actual food is a whole different ball game 😂

Just here to suggest whole milk instead of 2% since it has a higher fat content. Also, if he has difficulty with cow milk my pediatrician suggested soy or ripple (pea protein) since they are very nutritionally comparative to cow milk. Other "milks" are fine for them to have just that they have barely any fat or protein. Good luck!!
