I did my NCT classes in Botley. All were run by trained midwives, so it was very good. Haven’t attended the other classes so can’t comment on which is better x
We did NCT again ran by Sam Rose and she was brilliant
We did Village Midwife in Wallingford with Jenni (who was amazing) and the classes were great but the best thing to come out of it was the group of mums I met. We meet up every week and are always on WhatsApp to support each other. I would really recommend.
I would highly recommend NCT. But not for the content of the classes, for the group of parents you meet. The NCT classes were so focussed on labour/ birth. I know that’s important but it’s such a tiny part of becoming a parent. I wish they’d taught us more about looking after a baby, and specifically about sleep! There was nothing covered that wasn’t in a basic baby book. But it was so worth it to get the support network of other Mums x
@Hannah thanks. I did like the village midwife course with Jenni but I can only do the October dates and I'm due in November. Not sure if that's too late?? And there aren't any September classes.
@Mish do you know if she runs the classes in Didcot as well?
@Meenu not sure, we went to classes in Abingdon, I wonder if you contact NCT they can tell you which trainers run which courses
Have booked the NCT course. It is run by Sam Rose!
@Meenu that’s great to hear!
I’m in didcot and did an NCT course in Cholsey in 2019. Was worth doing - largely for my husband to learn about his role in labour and birth as I’d done a lot of the reading already. It really worked, he was a great advocate for me. Good to get a local group of mums due around the same time too. Everyone there was didcot or Wallingford based
@Yuko I just googled antenatal classes and it was one of the top links. They have classes in October if you were interested
We did NCT in Wallingford it was fab! Sam Rose who was very good and knew both the RBH and the JR
