I believe it’s the same as alcohol in the sense that the nicotine levels will stay in your body but significantly decrease I believe after 90 minutes.
You have to wait awhile before you feed baby and it dries your milk supply up.
I was doing it before I got pregnant again and I know other moms who do it and there seems to be no effect
@emily never did I say it was safe 😊
This is from the national library of medicine!!! I would def call and ask your doctor you’ve been using for your pre natal visits and have a discussion with them!! I personally wouldn’t risk it I think it is dangerous to the baby. Ya gotta think if its not healthy for you to vape it’s not healthy for the baby to be exposed to nicotine and the many unknown chemicals in them! But it’s better to know the risks if you decide to do it, so I’d speak with a doctor! Good luck!! I hope you have a healthy and safe delivery 💜! Breastfeeding while using e-cigarettes: The use of e-cigarettes during breastfeeding has not been studied. For this reason, the use of e-cigarettes is not recommended while breastfeeding. Nicotine passes into breast milk. Studies have shown that infant heart rate and blood pressure changes have been associated with increased nicotine concentrations in milk. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about all of your breastfeeding questions.
@emily so is yours 😂😂 all you said was “no”. To what? You answered none of her questions. Love how mad my comment made you 🤭
It is not safe unless you wait the amount of time it takes to leave your system every time you feed baby. I would say you should pick between the two options, vaping or breastfeeding. There's absolutely nothing wrong with giving formula if you want to vape but it is absolutely not safe for you to vape while you breastfeed so my recommendation is to either vape and give formula or don't vape and breastfeed. Good luck, mama 🖤
@emily no actually. I shared my experience which is what she asked for. Does not make me stupid because guess what? I’m not a doctor 😳 and neither are you. None of us are, we’re moms who all do things differently. So thank you actually for showing who the real smart one is.
i wouldn't 😭 who knows how long the nic stays in your breastmilk. baby might become dependent on the nicotine!
I read somewhere that nicotine stays in your milk for 10 hours before it’s completely gone. It’s not recommended bc of the lack of research. Personally I wouldn’t risk my baby’s health for a buzz
My milk supply dried up as soon as I picked up vaping again. To the point my baby even refused to latch anymore and I wasent getting even close to anything to feed baby by pumping! If you can resist it I would!
Well, vaping is not safe for YOUR lungs and it’s also not safe for people around you including the baby. But decision making is up to you. You are the mother
@emily most research is based off of case studies, meaning other people.. so I’d say Kayla responding to a question like this with her or her friends experience is more than relevant lol. Research doesn’t show that it would indefinitely cause harm, just that the risks involved are deemed harmful enough to recommend that breastfeeding mums should avoid vaping altogether. There’s an array of things you could do that would put your baby at risk. At the end of the day, it’s up to mum to decide whether it’s worth the risk or not.
