Carobel in expressed breast milk

Hi all! Little one has bad reflux and when we’ve been to her 8 week check up yesterday (although she’s already 9 weeks 😂) the doctor suggested Carobel and that she was going to look into how we use with with expressed milk feeds. Does anyone already use it in bottles of expressed breast milk as the only instructions I can find are for breastfeeding to give as a paste before the baby latches or formula bottles. Nothing about expressed milk 🥲

Hi! I exclusively pump and use carobel in every feed. My son’s reflux has got a lot better as he’s much older now so we only use 1 level scoop for an 8oz bottle. What was suggested for us was to start weaker and see how they get on. Increase by 1/2 scoop each time to see what level works for you. We never used more than 1 and a half scoops for 8oz xx

@Beth oh that’s good to know thanks!! She has 160ml bottles which is between 5/6oz so how much do you reckon for that? Also did you have to move up a teat size?

Start with a scoop and work your way around that I’d say! Yes we did change teat too but I’d start with what you’re usually used to and see what happens. If they’re going too slow or getting frustrated then change xx

@Beth thank you!! I’m hoping it’s a game changer for us 🤞🏻 x

Jumping on this as I exclusively pump and my little one has been recommended caribel, do you heat the breast milk? As my little one just drinks it cold

@Nicola I have done both! But carobel worked better with warm milk. Seemed to clump more cold. It’s been a game changer for us all the way through! Now since weaning, his reflux has almost completely gone! Xx

@Beth I've gave him it in cold and all he has done since is scream so much more than before, just seems to have made him worse

We had carobel at one point (didn’t work for us) and were mixing half a scoop with 90ml expressed breast milk, twice a day. So 180ml + 1 scoop total daily.

@Annabel we’ve just got it today so going to try a scoop in her next feed 🤞🏻
