Drinking water in Spain

We are due to fly to Spain on Saturday, and have been trying to read up on safe drinking water for babies, what’s everyone’s take on bottled water and boiling and cooling? Any suggestions welcome 🤗

Sometimes bottled water contains sodium as it’s distilled so you just have to check the labels. If you scroll down on this link it’s quite helpful :) https://www.nct.org.uk/baby-toddler/getting-out-about-your-baby/going-holiday/holidays-baby-your-guide

Hipp do a ‘Baby Water’ in Europe which is no sodium which is what we used. But we did have to use normal bottled on the occasion where we didn’t have any

Look on the back of the bottles they usually have a picture of a baby on them meaning they’re safe! We recently went to menorca and easily found water in any shop!

@Hannah thank you, did you boil the bottled water before using?

@Marie we did to begin with but then we decided there was probably no point! She was 8 months at the time so felt as she was allowed tap water at home it would probably be ok and she was absolutely fine! Hope you have a lovely time!

@Hannah thank you for your help xx

https://www.travel4baby.com/travel-guides/drinking-water-in-spain this website was super helpful when we went to Mallorca, but ive been to both mallorca and greece and not found a problem with any bottled water being too high in sodium x

Hi, we used “bezoya” water which was readily available as it had very little sodium etc in it - it has a blue label with red writing. We boiled and cooled it. Have a brilliant time!

We used to live in Spain and my first one was born here. Currently on holiday here as well. Using bezoya water and it’s so delicious :)

@Liza thank you so much, do you give it baby as is or do you boil? Xx

@Marie i just give it as is. Most water is fine, and when you go out they most likely won’t have bezoya in a restaurant. Just don’t give tap water here (and don’t drink it yourself either)
