Refusing feeds during this heat? Will she get dehydrated?

My LG ( formula fed) only drank 2oz last night (usually takes 7 oz- she was overtired and woke at 4am for a full feed), then fed as normal today ( 7/8 oz very 4 hrs ) - but now she skipped the last 2 feeds in a row (one when she was with my MIL earlier) and now she’s so tired she just had one oz and refuse the rest and, poor thing, she just wanted to be in her cot and sleep. I know she refused the last one because she was just exhausted ( MIL just seems to ignore the fact that she needs to nap and prefers to be out and about with the baby - this is a whole other issue!) I’m not terribly worried about her missing a feed because she’s a chunky happy healthy baby and this is a one off, but I’m worried about dehydration in this heat. Anyone having the same or any advice?

My little one is the same, normally does 6/7oz per feed 5/6 bottles a day but I’m struggling to get him to take more than 4oz as he just gets fidgety! One feed he only did 2oz. I’ve put it down to the heat too, I think as long as they are having wet nappies there’s nothing to be concerned about but I’m going to keep an eye on it tomorrow and then I think it’s due to cool down after then so fingers crossed babies are back to full appetite! X

@Chloe good point about the wet nappies, yes plenty of wet nappies still, and I guess the heatwave will be gone before we know it xx

My little girl has dropped from 5.5oz to 2.5-3 we’ve been trying to get her to take 4 so we know she’s had enough but she just fights it! Hopefully it is the heat because I was getting worried.

Mine did this he would only drink half of his bottle and would go longer stretches I think the heat just makes them more agitated and sleepy You can always give them an ounce of water if they are formula fed to cool them down (My health visitor recommended it )

Yesterday it was cooler here and she took her feeds way better, what a relief!
