Highly recommend the IG account Eat Play Say for all things feeding (and speech & language). She's a speech-language pathologist and a pediatric feeding specialist. She has a great list of cups she recommends. She mentions that mouth posture is so important for littles 6-18 months learning how to drink from a cup, some cups require the child to bite down in order to drink from the cup (BC its spill proof) or suck REALLY HARD BC of the valve. Here is her post about her favourite cups for littles. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9cUhrlJfrI/?igsh=MXY1OGoxMmN3bmliZg==
Also, my son does not hold his bottle to drink. He will play with it and hold it, but he doesn't lift it up to drink. We also have glass bottles, so that probably doesn't help, but he doesn't with the plastic ones we have either.
Same for my daughter, also using glass bottles. I think it’s totally normal. It’s just habits we have built from the beginning.
I have the munchkin cups, has two handles and just last week she started drinking water from it. Today I put whole milk in it to see if she'll drink it
My girl holds the bottle just to play with it but doesn’t drink by herself. I am using this sippy cup. Ginbear 2-in-1 Sip-N-Straw Cup for Baby Girl, Spill Proof Toddler Transition Sippy Cup with Straw, Silicone Baby Cup with Handles, Tiny Training Cups 6 Months+ (Baby Pink) https://a.co/d/7qIFbrk
