Polyhydramnios.

I’m 37 weeks and went for a scan, they told me I had excess fluid around baby and that’s she is Transverse 😏 anyone else had this? I’ve honestly never heard of it and didn’t have it with any other pregnancy’s. I’ve been put back on the GTT tests but so far my readings are within normal range. I’m super anxious as it is and worry about everything! The consultant told me my cord could fall out if my waters broke, and with all the blood thinners I’m on I could be put to sleep for delivery. Honestly my anxiety is through the roof! I’m so grumpy and agitated. I feel like I can’t see the world through the trees at the moment. Plus Dr Google worked his magic and now I’m over thinking everything 😭

I was diagnosed with the same at about the same week as you! We had our baby boy 11 days ago and, other than my waters breaking being more spectacular than expected and having some additional monitoring when we went into hospital, the polyhydramnios didn't have any impact on my labour or delivery - hope everything works out for you and happy to chat via DM if you need!

My baby is transverse and I got told the same thing if I go into labour- I have an appointment at 37 weeks to confirm she is transverse and then to schedule a section

@Terri thank you for replying and sharing. They want me to go back next week for another check up, and booking me in for induction the week after. I would just rather have her now tbh I’m so worked up and overwhelmed by everything. Hope you and your little man are doing well xx

@Samantha ahh I really hope baby moves for you lovely, I’ve just bought myself a ball to help move her xx

@Nici I think I’ve just made peace with the section now- just done want to wait a week for my next appointment- the anxiety from not having a plan of action is making me worse

I had then same at your gestation, no reason for it, no infection or gdd... I did loads of bouncing and other exercises as per spinning babies website etc, and baby turned. I also went back for scans and my fluid had come down, they said it could've been baby had just had a big wee that day or had shifted (more scrunched up in one side or the other), I've always been at the higher end of the scale for fluid. Even if it doesn't resolve the chances of the cord coming out first are still really small and you just have to make sure you get to hospital asap if your waters break before you're in there so they can check it. Don't panic just yet, it might all resolve. I'd recommend reading about induction and c-sections, I'd recommend why induction matters, the positive birth book and practical ways to make your birth better so you can have a birth you feel in control of, even if it's not exactly as you maybe envisaged to begin with. Helped me not feel overwhelmed when I was in your shoes. Goodluck. Xxx

@Samantha yup I totally get that, I was a bit rude to the consultant in my appointment. I don’t see why true give you the mental health questions if they aren’t going to look of take in that your super super anxious! As long as baby is safe that’s all that matters isn’t it really. Xx

@Cat I said this to my hubby, I could well of had extra fluid with all of them but never known, scans seems to be a lot more detailed these days. I hope it’s just something and nothing, I’ve read all sorts 😞 I just want her here safe and sound I know the worrying doesn’t help that at all 😖 it’s like going for a walk on a treadmill, Lots of motion but doesn’t get you anywhere! Thank you so much for your advice lovely xx

@Nici good luck with everything, I hope it's all OK and you have a pleasant birth with a healthy bub and mum at the end of it. Xxx
