Potty training

We've just started potty training our little boy but I'm unsure if he's actually ready. We're four days in, the first day he did really well and was actually weeing on the potty. But now every time I ask him if he needs to go or if I say tell mummy when you need a wee or poo he just replies with no or no I don't do wee on the potty 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm starting to think maybe he doesn't actually understand what's what so isn't ready?? Any tips would be great, thank you xx (I do have two older boys but can't remember how I went about potty training it was so long ago 😂😂)

I have a post on tiktok with some tips I used ❤️. Hope it’s helpful for you. If he did well on the first day that shows he can do it - just needs a bit more encouragement maybe. You got this! Instead of asking him just take him every hour - my daughter still says she doesn’t need to go when I ask her lol and when I take her she does a longgg wee. But she’s in the habit of going herself now but still says no when I randomly ask her 😂. But have a read and see if these tips help you x https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGe7HdPEC/

Thank you, I'll have a look! I do try and just sit him there but sometimes he'll have a bit of a tantrum shouting no and I don't want to force him and make him scared to use it xx

This sounds a bit like my little boy. We did a week and didn't see improvement in accidents, he didn't want to go on the potty or toilet and he was holding on his poops so much that he had a tummy ache. It also caused tantrums which were traumatic for both so we stopped and will try again when he's 2.5. it is early to do it now anyway so if you feel they aren't ready, don't worry about stopping and trying again in a few months. Most boys aren't potty trained until around 2.5-3 👍

@Charlotte yh I decided to relax a bit with it. I don't want to cause him too much stress
