I’ve had 2 scans previous so I had one at 32 and 34 weeks then at 36 weeks measured 36cm but then as I said if I’m measuring 38 38 then on my growth chart she’s like huge!!!
At 38 weeks, I was measuring 41cm and they’re not concerned as at the 36 week growth scan, baby was on the large end of normal. My first baby was 9lb4, born at 38 weeks with no pain relief. Trust you can birth your baby and you’re half way there 😊
@Anna thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. Just so scared as my first was 7.7 and I ripped with him so anything bigger just makes me worry x
Yeah, I probably should’ve mentioned the grade 3 tear I got 🙈 but I healed well from it. Apparently the risk of tearing reduces second time compared to first, so I’m putting my faith in that!
@Anna I was also laid down in a triage room without any midwives and just gas and air so this time should be different haha x
Hi, I wouldn't worry too much. Using the tape measure is such an inaccurate way of measuring baby size as it also takes into account your amniotic fluid, belly fat, the baby, everything. I was always showing as 97th percentile at every midwife appt and then had to go in for a scan because of reduced movement and my baby was infact 50th percentile. So don't stress.. They are more just checking that the growth is steady and not increasing or decreasing too quickly x
