First time pregnancy

First time ever being pregnant so I’m really new to all of this. I was just wondering why people say they are 7 + 2 pregnant? Sorry if this is a stupid question. First day of my last period was 18th June so I’m a bit confused as to how many weeks I am and what the + means? Thanks in advance 🩷

+ means how many days. So 7+2 would be 7 weeks and 2 days 😊

No such thing as stupid questions on here! Xx

Because things move/grow so quickly when you're pregnant, especially in the first trimester, we use weeks + days to age the gestation period. There's a big difference between 7 and 9 weeks (baby turns from an embryo into a foetus), for example. So it's much more accurate to include a day count, too.

You can use the NHS calculator or others online to find out how far along you are and an estimated due date. I’m 7 weeks 2 days and last period was 10 June so you’re probably about 6 weeks. :)

Pregnancy+ is a brilliant app to learn about what's happening with your body and baby, gives you loads of info

You’re 7+3! (7 weeks, 3 days) Congrats!
