We let her do it for a few seconds then we finish off properly. If you don’t brush your teeth, you don’t get to xxxx (go to the park, play with your dolly, watch television, have chocolate). They are the consequences

@Annabel tried all that he says ok no teeth

We have a hand puppet dolphin... The dolphin chats to her in a silly voice as it brushes her teeth. It's ridiculous, but it works... She then has them checked by a little small world toy ostrich ... Never thought this would be part of parenting or our daily routine .. but here we are, living it!

My son was/is terrible, was a constant battle 😫he refused a check up at the dentist last year who literally told me to hold him down and do it; (which we didn’t really do) but we do make sure he does them, even if not for as long as we should. He had a check up last week, and although not keen, did slightly open his mouth so she could see some! He’s a bit better now at doing them, he actually is worse when my husband says it’s time to do your teeth - he knows how to play us! A few things I have tried/do are - bringing his toys in and cleaning their teeth first, bing has a toothbrush song on YouTube 🙈, getting him to clean mine/have him watch me and exaggerating how great it is, alternating toothbrushes, saying we need to tickle them, talking about why we clean them and how we want to have shiny teeth so the food doesn’t get stuck, getting him to clean first then I do it. He’ll only have the brush baby apple mint. He has to do it, so I persevere but it’s so tough so I feel for yo

I'm afraid we only get to give our daughter a decent brush when she is zombified in front of the TV. Or strapped into the car seat if we are trying to go out. We have tried the duggie song, puppets, multiple different types of toothbrushes, etc.

We’ve downloaded an app called ‘magic timer’ by oral B. You can choose and unlock different Disney characters, you start the timer and it reveals a picture, every day you can get a new ‘sticker’ and star. My 3 year old loves it and looks forward to cleaning his teeth now 🙂

Honestly Hey Duggee Toothbrush song is a life saver! My 3 and 2 year old love brushing their teeth now because of it!
