Overdue ladies 👇🫶🏼 show some love

I’m hopping on for solidarity with my eager beaver OVERDUE mums 🥵. I am currently 40+5 but my preferences are to decline any sweeps or induction. In France their full term is 41 weeks rather than 40, so you may not be as ‘overdue’ as you think. I was also dated a week later than I had calculated myself so that is always worth considering how accurate your due date even is. I know it’s hard but I’m trying to have an expectation it will be longer than a set date given by hospital (already 5 days past mine). We would never say to someone your broken arm will be healed by a set date, it’s a timeframe. With a set date it is easier to notice each new day passing us by so stay strong 🙏 I hope we can support each other to not feel disheartened, particularly us being the end of August so majority in this group have had their babies!! We could be September mums! Everyone is different and babies come when babies ready 👼🏻. Just keep monitoring movements and heartbeat with MW. Stay active and get those oxytocin levels up 💞💞 I just want to meet the baby now!! But also I’m willing to wait up to 43 weeks as long as baby is safe/happy in there. The more relaxed you are the more baby will feel safe to come 🫶🏼🫶🏼 Anyone else holding out or going stir crazy for their little ones arrival? https://nurturingbirth.co.uk/mythofthelatebaby/

Baby doesn’t have a calendar, they don’t care what date it is! Baby will come when they’re ready. If you and baby are healthy, there’s no need for an induction or sweep. Get your oxytocin flowing and enjoy these last few days, it won’t be much longer xx

You are glowing ✨️😍 Your baby will be here soon on it's own ❤️🫶

You look amazing am in the same boat 40+4 was debating the sweep the other day cause I got really fed up but then that passed and I’m just gunna wait till my baby is ready her self o come 💖💖 good luck 🤞 xx

@Becca beautiful! It is hard when it feels like we have been dreaming up the day when they arrive but then it ‘passes’… and people are asking. Everyone is different but it’s so reassuring that other mums are still patiently waiting for their little ones to arrive too 💕 xxx

@Laura yaaay! Im glad you’ve been feeling well. Same here. I have been getting a lot of lightning crotch but no braxton hicks. I’m just trying to carry on as normal. My next MW app is tomorrow. Hope yours goes well xxx

This is beautiful! I am 41+4 and either in latent or prodromal labour for 5 days which is mostly occurring at nighttime and I’m truly exhausted. I have also declined sweeps and induction so far but really struggling now 😞

I’m with you!! No interventions for me if I can help it. I’m 39+5 and my first baby arrived at 41+1 so I’m confident this one will also come when they are ready. It is getting harder to not feel stir crazy! Pretty much all I can think about is birth and I don’t have lots of energy or physical ability to do the house projects I want to do to distract myself 😅

You looks amazing!!!!!! Send you a hug, and be strong, you can do it!!

This was me at the end of July.. my due date was July, ended up with an August baby. Spontaneous labour started at 41+3 without any sweeps/induction/interventions. Gave birth to my little girl at home. She came when she was ready! Stay strong mamas!! Xx

@Jaide love that! Hoping and planning for a home birth this time. I go between nervous and excited for labour eeeek - I think I’m prepared but if you have any tips pls share ❤️x

There’s a group on Facebook called ‘ten month mamas uk’ you might find useful x

I was due late July and my daughter was an August baby at 41+2, like you I declined sweeps and had no intention of being induced. Earlier in pregnancy I treated it like 42 was full term (37-42 weeks is considered full term by NICE guidelines) made the wait easier. Didn't stop the messages from those who were well meaning but annoying though 😂 Wishing you all a safe arrival when baby decides.

Sending good vibes!! I love your empowering message and also a reminder that our bodies and babies come when they are ready, during this pregnancy I learn that they haven’t change in 100 years the way “the due date” been set, for me that’s crazy but also speak to me that is not accurate and may need update hahaha 💜💜💜💜 I am not in my guess date but this post was so comforting and exactly the vibes I’m looking for to protect my peace and birth at home when me and my baby are ready, thank you!!

Sending you soooo much love ❤❤❤ Keep going mama, I gave birth at 42+3 xx

Both my babies made an appearance at week 38 on their own. I believe they arrive when they are ready and your body knows exactly what to do

I had my son at 41+5. He was due in July but was born August 6th! I did have two sweeps but, for me, they were preferable to an induction. I'm so glad I didn't have an induction. His birth was beautiful and just as I hoped it would be!

@Terri that’s great!! Did you feel the sweeps helped? How long was it between the sweep and birth? Xxx

@Elle The second one most definitely did. I was 2cm then but the cramping was inconsistent. An hour after the second one, cramping started and developed into established contractions by the evening of the same day. I feel like the second sweep was crucial for me. Everyone is different but I felt like I would have ended up having the induction otherwise.
