Has anyone ever done a last name change through the court here? How does it work? How long did the process take? What all did you have to do?

Unfortunately it’s not through marriage. We keep setting dates and he keeps finding excuses to change it. I just want to have the same last name as my children.
Depends how you are getting it changed. For marriage it was fairly easy. Most of it is through social security office. But you would get your marriage certificate and file, then pick up copies to bring to social security and you have to go in for that. Then once thats changed you bring your marriage certificate and new social into dmv to change your license. Im assuming it would be pretty much the same except documents for a different reason of name change.
