I think Louis is the more common spelling so it will be easier in the future, not having to correct people, however it depends on if you would want the more common spelling
Louis is classier but might often get confused for “Lewis” (perspective from someone in USA)
I would name him Louie because when I read louis I read it at Lewis.
@Kylie and @KayLee same here and I’m British. I read Lewis
If you're going for Lou-e then I'd spell it Louie. If you're going for Lewis, then I'd do Louis.
Yeah id pronounced them two names youve listed differently, so louis as lewis
Louis Armstrong is spelled that way and everyone gets his name right!
I'm amazed that most people don't know the correct pronunciation of Louis. Thought that was quite common
Louis as that is the traditional spelling
My little one is Louie! I chose this because some people say Lewis for Louis!
Louis is so much better
We have a Louie! We chose this because people kept saying Lewis when we spelt it the other way x
Thanks for all your comments! It seems very split between the 2 spellings 😂😂
I have a friend with Louis (pronounced your way) she chose this because when he's older he might prefer Lewis to Louie (pronunciation only) We're going with Alfie but my husband wanted to Alfred so he could choose if he wanted Alfie or Fred/Freddie but I don't like it 🤣
Louis is classier x
