After delivery

Hey, yall. So I was gbs positive. I did receive antibiotics in labor. Now my baby is 8 weeks old. I get sooooo scared every time I go to the bathroom, have to change a pad, even when I shower! My hands are literally raw from washing. I know it's mostly due to my PPA but I'm just so worried about giving her strep now. I know late-onset is rare but I made the mistake of doing Google searches and reddit post terrified me. Any moms post labor have any advice or words of encouragement?

Mama, take 3 deep breaths 😮 I was also positive and given anti-biotics during surgery. My baby girl is now 6 months, healthy and hitting all her milestones 🥳🥳 I found that online was just a cesspool of paranoia so I tend to avoid it unless it's directly from the NHS 😊 I hope my post helps some x

I didn’t think you could pass it on unless through vaginal labour?

I think Rebekah is right. I was positive and there was no time for antibiotics and I have an almost 5 month old healthy girl. You are fine!! xx

@Elsa yeh I was also positive but had to have section at 36 weeks and didn’t have any specifically for strep b x

@Rebekah weird they didn’t give you any? 🤔 What matters is that our babies are well. 🙏🏻

@Elsa I think I just had the standard they give when having a section, so probably does cover it tbh! But I’m allergic to penicillin so not sure what they did give me haha! But yes! X

I was positive, but didn’t receive any antibiotics and my baby is 8 months old healthy. I know the postpartum anxiety is so real. I’ve never had so many panic attacks in my life just with people holding/being around my baby. You got this mama!

@eliana smith if your waters break before your induction call them state you’ve tested positive and they’ll get you to come in and give you the antibiotics
