Matty as a girls name?
I love the name alone but would also have loved to use Matilda, its been a favourite since i was young but now have a little 3yo cousin with that name (she doesnt have a nickname). my dad's name is Matthew so it would honour him too. my parents always told me that it would have been my name if I had been born a boy! does it work as a full name for a girl?

It’s becoming way more popular to have “nicknames” as full names! Like my mom’s name is Toni, not Antoinette, or how Theo is more popular than Theodore now. I do agree that Mattie might be more of an indicator that’s her full name but either way you spell it, super cute!

I don’t mind it as I love a cute gender neutral name however, I would assume it’s a nickname until corrected. Mattie reads a little more like a full name to me.
