Metformin for HG

Following the research that GDF15 is responsible for hyperemesis, does anyone know if it's possible to get Metformin prescribed before pregnancy to reduce nausea and vomiting in subsequent pregnancy?

I was on Metformin pre-pregnancy due to my PCOS. I was told by doctors to stop immediately when I got pregnant, so it seems unlikely. Taking it pre-pregnancy only, also didn't help with my sickness during x

Are u guys talking about Metformin that is used to control diabetes, I was given during pregnancy last trimester. But my body dint react well hence I went back to taking insulin injections.

@Nikhath (Nikki) yes, it's quite often prescribed for PCOS too as it can be related to insulin resistance x

@Shannon yes you're not supposed to take it once you're pregnant. Oh it doesn't help at all? Can I ask how long you were taking it before you got pregnant? X

@Nikhath (Nikki) yes it's traditionally a diabetes drug đź‘Ť

@Rebecca not long to be fair, only a couple of months. Basically enough to have a period/ovulate again, and then I fell pregnant. X
