Moving to Perth from London!

Hey girlies, me and my partner have a 3 year old 1 year old and I’m 3 months pregnant. We’ve always wanted to travel (move abroad) but it’s so daunting but we’re finally ready. Our first stop is Scarborough Perth. We’ve got about a year to officially plan the move but I just want some advice. Based off of many manyyy things I’ve seen online. Is it really THAT hard to make friends in Perth 🥴 I heard it’s very cliquey and know one cares to really get to know you…. Lastly if anyone knows this, how’s the pay for scaffolding jobs in Australia. Is the pay good? Either way we are excited to try something new 🤍

Hi! I’m down to be your friend, 6 months pregnant with my first at the moment x

I hv one year old son, would love to be your friend and do playdate!!

Hello 🙂 Scaffolding jobs in the city are payed alright, you can make really good money if you are working FIFO (fly in fly out from Perth) usually 2 weeks at work and then 1 or 2 weeks off work at home. Very different way of living but it can work really well for some families, meaning dad is at home with the kids for 2 whole weeks, but then you're on your own for 2 whole weeks. In regards to making friends, you'll meet some really cool people, you just wont have that close group you did growing up, it requires a lot more effort to make friends here as the Perth girls already have thier group of close friends they grew up with. Saying that I've met some awesome girls from overseas and had great chats over coffee and wine. The Perth weather definitely beats the British weather 😍

Scarborough is beautiful, I used to live there! I moved to Perth from Sydney 3 years ago and have made friends easily. I joined a book club and I'm making friends through my sons swimming lessons. I'm not sure about scaffolding jobs, sorry.

Also moving to Perth with 1yo in a week time and happy to be your friend!!

Thanks everyone for responding. We aren’t moving till next year summer ( uk summer not aus summer) so it’ll be a while before we need to officially set things in place but I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you in the future 🥰
