Reduced movements?

I’m 28 weeks with my first, yesterday I felt baby twice at around dinner time, nothing since so almost 24 hours. I do have an anterior placenta but I’ve also had regular ish movements for about 2/3 weeks now, it’s worrying me but everyone is saying I’m just been dramatic and it’s just because of my placenta or baby is having a “lazy day”, it happened 2 week ago too but I eventually felt her move after a few hours. Mentioned it to my midwife after the first time it happened and she just said it’s because of my placenta. I feel like I’m just been fobbed off or people just don’t believe me or think I’m been dramatic, should I wait another day or ring MAC??? I don’t wanna waste there time if everything is ok but then again what if it’s not 😢😢

If you are ever worried, always ring triage. That's what they are there for. I had this last week at 29 weeks and I went in to be monitored, they gave me some ice cold fresh orange and baby was moving within 10 min so and got sent on my way, maybe give that a try and call them x all the best

Ditto the above message - always get it checked out - you will feel much better after hearing the heartbeat and being monitored. Never feel like you are wasting anyone’s time ❤️

Ring the hospital if you’re worried at all. My consultant said the placenta at this stage shouldn’t make that much difference (mines anterior) and isn’t a reason to excuse reduced movements (I’m 27 weeks 2 days) and my midwife said if I have any concerns to call xxx

Drink something very cold too see if it works!

Have you been busy or conscious of movements the whole time? Have something cold/sugary and jump Around to wake baby up, then sit quietly for half an hour to see if you feel anything. If you’re not just missing the movements then definitely call triage. I often think I’ve felt nothing all day if busy but as soon as I do this, I always feel him x

Hi Mom! When I was 25 weeks along, I had a similar experience and called my midwife. She suggested I have a hot chocolate and wait a bit, but I hadn't felt any change. So, I made an appointment for the next morning, and on my way there, she finally started to move! When I arrived, the midwife noticed that her position had changed from transverse (which I felt constantly) to head down, and that could explain the difference. I ended up scheduling a growth scan because I was still a bit anxious, but everything turned out to be just fine! Now I’m in my 29th week, and she’s always moving around. ❤️

I have an anterior placenta too, I had reduced movements on Wednesday. I called the hosp and went in, I was in and out in an hour and I felt SOOO much happier for going. As soon as they put the monitors on me, he began to kick 🫣 Don’t ever let anyone tell you you’re being dramatic, it’s your baby and your body, you know it best. The docs never made me feel silly for going in and I apologised for wasting their time but they said absolutely not and even if I had the same thing tomorrow to go back because it should always be treated as a separate incident. Do what you feel most comfortable 🥰 best of luck! X

This is exactly what is happening to me presently, I’m 28weeks and I haven’t felt baby moment since yesterday evening till now, I went to the assessment unit today and baby was monitored the heart rate was normal But still haven’t felt him move till now.

Babies don’t have lazy days! There is definitely reasons you can feel reduced movements however I’d always get it checked. Have you took the time out to actually focus on the movements too? I know for myself I can think I’ve felt nothing but that’s because I’ve been more on the go and not tuned in to the movements. You’ll never be wasting anyone’s time and even if they give you that vibe then don’t pay attention it’s your job to keep that baby as safe as you possibly can so everything is worth checking xx
