At what point would you tell work you’re pregnant?

This is my first baby and I am only 5 weeks pregnant. I have a very good relationship with my direct line manager. It’s obviously very early but they’re making all sorts of plans for me next summer and I feel a bit bad sitting in these meetings knowing I’m not going to be there. I could tell my line manager only and ask that they not share it any further and I don’t think that would be a problem. Should I still wait for 12 weeks?

it depends on your job , i notifed my work at 5 weeks only because my job is heavy lifting and standing up for 10+ hours xx

I told my manager at 6 weeks as I was extremely ill! They allowed me to work from home until the sickness passed at around 16/17 weeks (I only go in 1 day a week anyway). It definitely helped having her knowing, just her and HR knew until 12weeks x

I am a social worker and i do support people with hoarding. So i notified at 4 weeks.

Wait until your dating scan and tell your direct line manager and everyone else after the 1st trimester is finished

I told my boss at 8 weeks with my first as I’m high risk so knew it would involve a lot of appointments etc

I think if you want to, you can start telling people now. I had a colleague who went through so much sickness the first 12 weeks and if she'd only just told us we would have supported her 100% no matter how many weeks she was x

My partner told our manager (his direct boss) 2 days after I found out 😂😂 I was only 4 weeks if that😂

I remember being so concerned about being judged. But the opposite happened. I received a lot of kindness. I informed family asap as I wanted support in case something happened. And I told my work after my dating ultrasound to give them enough notice to back fill me. I also told them that in my culture we usually wait 3 months before announcing and that I would appreciate keeping it on the down low until then. They were super understanding. Plus it got to a point where I couldn’t hide the morning sickness anymore.

I told by boss at just under 5 weeks as I had migraines. She was really supportive x

I had to tell my work soon as I found out due to being around toxic chemicals and a lot to heavy lifting they have been so supportive and moved me to a different department x
