I've heard people are sick drinking it so they can't do the test 🙈 I'm dreading it
I honestly don’t think it’s that bad, it is very sweet, but I have a really sensitive stomach when it comes to food and drink and I didn’t have any issues with it x
A friend from work said it's really not that bad, the worst part is waiting around for two hours and not being able to eat 🤣
Dont rush drinking it just takes small sips to keep it down x to me it tasted like gloopy lemon water xx
With my first pregnancy I pretty much downed it in one go and for a good 45mins I felt awful like I would pass out. When I did it recently however, I took my time and sipped it over 5-10 mins and felt completely fine.
I had the raspberry one during my first pregnancy and it was very sweet, not so bad but had an awful after taste. It's not as bad as people make out 😊 x
I had an orange one my first pregnancy and thought it just tasted like the lucozade sport drink 😂 I didn’t mind it
It’s not nice but it’s not completely awful, the only way i could describe it was like drinking a liquid gummy bear if that makes any sense😂
Just block your nose while drinking it. It makes me wretch personally cos of how sweet it is, but you’ll be fine. It’s manageable. Good luck x
When are you told to do this? I’m 20 weeks and not had to do one
@Zara I’m not quite sure but I am 22 weeks and due to have mine at 25 weeks x
@Zara not everyone has to do it , I'm having mine done at 24 weeks. It's all to do with BMI I think so you might not need it x
Oh my BMI is low so I doubt I’ll have to do it. X
BMI and family history of pre eclampsia usually too xx

Is it weird that I’m lowkey excited. I just love juices and the sweeter it is, the better
Can you drink water with it? Just know that thick things can be difficult so if I can sip water in between it might be better 😂 I have mine in December x
@Leah no empty stomach x
@Leah with mine after the drink they gave me a cup of water i was allowed to sip throughout the wait x
Ahh thanks @Jess puts my mind at rest to just get through it then 😂
The drink isn’t bad at all, I had it with my first then had to be tested at 16 weeks this time round then I’ve got to have it again in a week or so. It’s the two hour wait that’s a bit of a chore 🙈 take plenty with you to do.
It is vile and made me feel so unwell!! I have declined it this time and will be taking my blood sugars at home before and after food for a few days. Much better for baby because the ingredients in that stuff is wild and totally not representative of how much glucose someone has in one sitting xx
@Saff Hi Saff, just seen your comment come up. Is this something you can request instead of the drink then? I've not heard of anyone doing this before but I think it's maybe a good way of going about it
@Natasha absolutely!! They don't openly offer it but I have researched it and it absolutely can be facilitated. I just told the doctor "I won't be doing that so please cancel my appointment. However, if you are concerned about my blood sugar levels then I am more than happy to take a few days of readings at home both fasted and after food." And she just said "okay" and cancelled my appointment 😂 I think they provide the blood glucose monitor but if not then they aren't too pricey from the pharmacy. Xx
@Saff thank you for this lovely!! I might give them a call tomorrow and see if I can do the same thing! xx
@Natasha I think that is a great idea! Good luck and be firm if you need to 💖 x
It’s like thick water I hated it in my first pregnancy. It doesn’t take like medicine though
