@Antoinette There are ways to play online, I'd love to play with a mom group too! The local group in my town just doesn't seem the right vibe for me.
I haven’t done DnD but I did pathfinder. Which was kinda similar. I think.
I’d love to learn!! Not too many groups near me that I’d be able to go to
I play!!!! I’ve got two littles (5 and 2), and I only have one group where we play online. I’ve been playing for about 4.5 years and have most of the core books for 5e. I’m still learning 5.5e with my current group.
I’ve played a little but I haven’t in a while and would love to play more! Ironically I work for Roll20 so I’m always working on games 😂
I’ve never played online but after my first daughter I got friends together. Learned dnd myself. Taught them. Then dm our group hahah so fun though! Hard to do with kids. We have been on a year long break while my husband and I had our second and another couple of members had their first. So so soooo fun. I miss it desperately.
@Teresa you work for Roll20?! That’s so cool!
@Kandis yes I do think they are similar, but I have never played Pathfinder.
@Dhinorah same! The group near me just wasn't my vibe I don't think. I want to start in a fresh campaign, not midway through an old one.
@Victoria oh so you really know how to play well! I am so desperate to learn how to play Curse of Strahd so I can DM it one day for a group.
@Teresa that's must be such a fun job! I have only played once as a DM for a group of family members. I wanted to play so bad but never had the chance, so I created the chance. I just discovered it's very difficult to DM but I'd love to learn how to be a great one. Right now I feel it's important to learn how to be a player first though!
@Alexis I’m on the content conversion team converting books from the major publishers like Paizo and Wizards of the Coast into modules! Lots of fun!
@Alexis I did similar! I got a starter kit and was all set to learn how to DM, but between pregnancy and working at the time it got put off for a year. Once I had my baby and went on Maternity leave, I decided it was time to buck up and learn so I could finally host DnD. I really want to experience being a player though!
I have 4 kiddos and play DnD every Sunday night on discord and we do get together every so often for in person sessions. I’ve even turned one room in my house into a “tavern” and have it all set up for in person sessions lol. I’m currently in the process of making a reversible tablecloth. One side is waterproof linen and the other is a 1x1 grid to play on

@Amanda that is honestly so cool! I'd love to be a great DM one day and host games for people, but I feel I need to learn the player side first.
@Charlotte I started as a DM for our group.
@Charlotte It’s definitely fun! I’ve played a little with a couple family members and once or twice in work team games but that’s about it. Being a player is feels like it’s easier to dive into a game and actually enjoy it too rather than having to worry about the storyline
@Amanda I started as a DM too but I want to learn the player side so I can know what it's like in order to make games more fun for a group. Being a DM was way harder than I imagined. I felt so overwhelmed having to tackle everything the players tried to throw my way haha
@Teresa you should definitely play more if you enjoy it! I'd love to experience just playing the game instead of session prepping for a week before each session hahaha
I've been playing Pathfinder 1e for many years and have played D&D 5e a little bit.
I used to DM D&D 5e.
We're doing a DM rotation campaign where we're all DMs and players. Every 2 weeks we switch between 5 people (2 women, 3 men) so we can still play as a player expanding the world and learn how to DM - the goal is to gain experience on the DM side with support of other DMs so we all can solo DM one day. I'm not sure how long it will last but we have tons of lore each of us has contributed to and it really has made the campaign pretty interesting 🙂 if you want to join in on the rotation I can send you an invite - the next session is in 2 weeks and I'm helping the other mom with hers since it'll be her first one too 😁 @Charlotte
@Crystal how do you find they compare to one another?
@Emily why did you stop?
@Selena that would honestly be so amazing! Do you play in person or online?
@Charlotte it really is! We play online. Discord and either owlbear or foundry vtt. 3 of the 5 are using foundry vtt and the other two are going to purchase it next month? I think 🤔 No one knows how to do roll 20 so if that's something you rock by all means teach us lol 😆
@Selena I've only ever DMd in person or played 3 sessions on Foundry, sorry 😅 but I'm willing to learn whatever!
I love dnd! I enjoy dming quite a bit. I've been running a homebrew campaign for a few years now. It's a great way to relieve stress from the week. Just unwind and nerd out with friends.
@Katlyn ugh that's the dream! I hope to learn how to DM but I also want the experience of being a player.

@Charlotte I had to play for a couple of years before having the confidence to try dming. It's a lot of work but incredibly enjoyable.
@Charlotte it's all good! Roll 20 isn't as good as foundry imo lol did you wanna join the rotation? If so I can send you the discord invite link ☺️🖇️
@Katlyn my first ever time playing was DMing for friends and it was so difficult 🥲 None of us had ever played the game and I had to learn it all from scratch and plan a starter campaign and teach everyone what to do. It ended up being a lot of fun but oh so much work.
@Jasmine that's actually a great idea! We should start a discord server for moms who DnD!
https://discord.gg/9jGftYE2
Would this work? ⬆️
@Victoria yes! All mamas who want to DnD should join that server!
@Amanda wow!!!!
I joined the discord and would love to play 😊
I tried joining the discord but the link isn’t working 😭
@Dhinorah I'm not sure how to share the link again, try DMing Victoria!
https://discord.gg/FqXewySv
Here is the new discord link, @Dhinorah Apparently the links expire after a set amount of time 😅
@Victoria thank you! I just joined!
I’d love to join too! Would it be possible to get a new link?

@Charlotte Sorry! Haven't checked Peanut in a while but I like that there are more classes that you can play in Pathfinder. There's also more rules but it's really not too different from d&d 5e

I want to play DnD and with other moms sounds fun
I would love to learn to play I’ve been trying to find a group for years
