Yes I receive SSI for my 2 year old who was diagnosed with Austism at the end of August, we received the first check in October (just to give you time frame of our application processing)
If you have an autistic child or a child with ADHD, you can get SSI for them . But there's certain paperwork you have to do And you will have to open a bank account separately of their own. If you have SSI yourself you have to open a bank account for them and you would have to be there representative payee at least until they're old enough to manage their own money or until they're old enough to get a job and not be on SSI anymore
