Birth control pp..

I just had my third and baby was a surprise pregnancy. I’ve never been on birth control nor have I wanted to, but now with 3 I’m a little panicked of if I should?… we want a 4th and final baby in a couple years so I definitely don’t want anything to get in the way of that. I’m breastfeeding and get so weird about taking anything especially if it has hormones that could pass to baby. I should mention that while this last baby was not planned, my other 2 were and I’ve been with my husband 10 years and we’ve always been great at just tracking. I know our exact slip up with this surprise girly (love her so much!!! Haha) Anyways help. Should I keep doing what I have been doing??

so.. i’m conflicted here. when i had my last baby back in 2022, i stayed off birth control for a while afterwards and tracked my cycle with flo, didn’t even look at my partner while ovulating lol and it worked for me until my body was normal enough for me to want birth control again. unfortunately, with the state of how things are about to be now and women losing rights to their reproductive freedom in many states, im urging you to at the very least stock up on plan bs if you don’t want birth control. 💓

Sooo I tracked with an app to avoid ovulation dates and now I’m 6 months pregnant 😅 no idea how it really happened as I was 12 weeks pp and maybe had sex 3 times none of which were near I was meant to be ovulating.

Can use condoms. Idk why everyone is so taboo about married couples using condoms. Then you don’t have to take hormonal BC 🤷‍♀️

I never went back on birth control after my first baby. I just tracked everything and we were careful. We didn’t get pregnant until we were trying for a few months and we didn’t start trying till she was almost 2

@Taylor definitely not taboo about it. Like I said I’ve been with my husband 10 years and we’ve only ever gotten pregnant when we tried except for our last baby who was a surprise

@Kyndel plan b’s are not to be used as a form of birth control. Definitely should not be used often.

@Siobhan oh no! Baby was just meant to be I guess haha my surprise baby I know exactly when it happened and it was definitely on us for not being careful like we usually were! Cannot imagine not having her though. Good luck with your new little one!!

@Katie this was us too. Been pregnant 4 times, 1 was a loss, but 3 of those were very very planned! Would track otherwise.

Me personally make him get a vasectomy.

Yeh it’s going to be interesting a year apart but I’m sure it will be fun 🥰

I love the pill personally but while I was breastfeeding I was worried it would lower my milk supply and it was already low so I just used condoms for a bit and combination of condoms and tracking is probably ideal

Iud all the way

@Michaela we want more kids so won’t be doing that

@Siobhan my second and third are a year and a half apart and it’s been so sweet. They’ll be so close! I went into in just knowing it would be chaos and it’s helped me adjust haha

@Jessica this is what I typically do and will probably continue to do!

@Allison my bestie and sister have this! I’ll consider it I think once we’re fully done having babies! ❤️

Birth control can mess with hormones. I'd track and use condoms until you are done having kids.

@Janni ❤️ yes! I’ve been worried that is would cause issues with having our last baby in a few years

Yeah, i was on long-term birth control once I got off. It took 2 years to conceive my son. So I always say if you are looking for another one. Don't get on it. Instead, use condoms and track cycles. It also makes you susceptible to depression, blood clots, etc. Its not good for you my friend and I both had birth control since 14 years old and struggled in our late 20's to have kids. If I had known I wouldn't have chosen birth control. As i wasn't even sexually active that young just had very heavy periods. My friend is still struggling with infertility.

Ahh just saw that part! Alittle reverse snip snap😂 kidding ofc!

Para guard IUD. Non hormonal. Good for 10 years.

Unless youre not bothered about when you have another baby get BC. Theres non hormonal options like the copper coil if you want hormone free x

@Taylor if you’re used to having bare sex all the time condoms definitely don’t feel the same and a lot of people don’t enjoy sex as much because of that

@Michaela 🤣

@Stephany well, either enjoy sex a tiny bit less and more than likely get pregnant, or use a condom and more than likely don’t get pregnant 😂🤷‍♀️ I’d rather use the condoms. Idc if it doesn’t feel as good. I know how awful I feel being pregnant and how expensive and difficult another child would be unplanned.
