I stopped being sick around 15/16 weeks and then randomly threw up in bed a couple nights ago (26 weeks) it came out of nowhere. But the nausea does come up sometimes but I think it’s more me having a weak stomach when it comes to certain things which I’ve had since before being pregnant
Yeah I feel sick again most days now 😭 with my daughter once I completely stopped being sick around 15/16 weeks, I wasn’t sick again until I was in labour (only because the morphine injection😂). With this baby it eased up around 15 weeks but I’ve still felt awful most days with the odd days of nausea but now I feel sick every day. I feel sick if I don’t eat and feel sick if I do eat so nothing is helping it now 🙃 a lot of people report in third trimester they get a lot of first trimester symptoms x
I've not had nausea but noticed a funny taste in my mouth returning and sometimes gagging again when brushing my teeth
@Jayne same! I gagged yesterday and thought no oh.. not this again..!
@Samantha i’ve heard a lot of people are sick in labour, is that normal with the types of pain relief they offer? Oh i’m soo glad the first trimester hell is coming back 😅 please tell me after birth you found it went straight away? (Just lie to me if you must 🤣)
@Liv (previously Peanut) I think it’s fairly common to be sick with most of them even gas and air. But it’s like anything, some people are totally fine and have no effects. The morphine injection is one of the worst, to the point they give you a sickness jag with it 😂 the pregnancy symptoms stopped after birth but I’m not the best person to ask as I had a traumatic birth and ended up really ill after it 🙃 worst part for me after birth is the emotions, I cried nonstop for weeks 😂 x
@Samantha that’s good to know, i’ve not done much research into pain relief options yet! Oh wow i’ll stay away from that one maybe then 🙈 though i guess at the time you just take what you need and sickness probably is worth it if it helps the pain! Hope your birth this time is a lot better 💕
@Samantha I had no pain relief and was sick in labour, I think some people are just more prone to it. It was during my contractions which wasn't pleasant. I had an antisickness injection so know this is an option! I'm hoping for a home birth this time and plan to have the injection prescribed ahead of time as particularly with the HG I will undoubtedly be sick again. It isn't the nicest injection, but better than being sick!
@Liv (previously Peanut) tbh I didn’t really research. I just went in on the opinion that i didn’t want an epidural but wasn’t set on not having it. I ended up getting an epidural along with everything running up to it 😂 I had sepsis so think that probably played a part in how much pain I was in! I’m having an elective section this time so should be a breeze compared to last night. As long as baby boy doesn’t come early 🤞🏼😂
@Elly that does make sense! They do say your body tries to completely empty itself also! Plus yeah the pain isn’t nice
I'm a HG sufferer and my sickness subsided after 20 weeks (although I get the odd day still) and I'm still medicated. In my HG support groups I'm in, many women report that their sickness and nausea returned as they approached birth. Most comments said it didn't come back till much later but some women did report it flaring back up earlier in the 3rd trimester. I know for me now indigestion is one of my biggest triggers and can cause me to be sick so i have to keep that under control with omeprazole, especially as I head further into the 3rd trimester
