Pre-eclampsia

Has anyone had any info on being diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. I currently have gestational diabetes and on meds for that but since Sunday I have had like my heart skips a beat so been measuring my blood pressure at home and been consistently high. I got my growth scan and consultant appointment on Friday so just monitoring bloods and recorded it to talk to them about it then. Could this be the start of pre-eclampsia?

You can get pregnancy related hypertension without it being pre-eclampsia. I went in to triage with high blood pressure and they've given me tablets to keep it stable and are monitoring me extra now. I've had headaches and some protein in my urine which can indicate pre-eclampsia but the levels in my blood are low enough for them not to be worried so are still just calling it hypertension. I would keep monitoring your BP and call triage if it gets too high or you have any other pre-eclampsia symptoms

I’m kinda on the watch list for preeclampsia. Im now on blood pressure tablets, have to monitor my blood pressure everyday. Also get my bloods taken every week and have growth scans. This has been from 36 weeks. If they are worried about it they might recommend being induced. They have signed me up for an induction at 39 weeks.

I've been diagnosed since 28 weeks (currently 35+5). High blood pressure (usually they will do 3 tests over the space of an hour or so) Protein in your urine that keeps going up Urine sample sent off and PCR done, anything over 30 is usually something they investigate Sudden swelling of hands, feet, legs, face Visual disturbances like black spots and flashing lights Persistent headache that won't go away with paracetamol Epigastric pain, so think just under your boobs and top of your tummy. Particularly on the right hand side. Blood sample sent off and they look at markers to do with kidney and liver function I don't have all the symptoms, in fact I only have the protein, high BP, and PCR over 30. But diagnosed nonetheless as it's better to be safe than sorry. My suggestion is if you are worried then definitely bring it up at a midwife appointment or call your triage.

Thank you all. I have just some vision blurring and heart skips a beat feeling. Other than that and being very tired I feel ok. I will speak to midwife at appointment on Friday. Thank you all again, hope the rest of your pregnancy go ok x
