@Jess can you point me in the direction of some good information, resources, support on where to get started. It feels like a massive, scary move.
I home Ed my 9 year old. Facebook is the best place to turn for advice. Most local areas will have a Facebook group presence to point you towards local resources and there’s always the national support network for dealthi g with the LA. Where you start really depends on your child. But figuring out their learning style and interests is a great first step. My child wants to be a zookeeper and she learns best by doing, she benefits from mainly unstructured, hands on learning but she needs a bit of structure to stay motivated. What we do is vastly different from a friend whose son wants to be a mechanic and requires structure and learns best through watching and a friend who’s child doesn’t know yet what they want but needs to write notes…
