When to wean

From 6 months' birthday but not sure she'll be ready, she's 5 months tomorrow but doesn't sit up yet

Mine will be 6 months 27th Dec but we are staying with family 24th-3rd Jan so if we are ready to wean around then I'd rather do it the week before we are with family so my LO is used to it calmly before we're in a crazy environment 😅 I suppose the alternative is waiting till later xx

I'm waiting until after Christmas personally as I'm getting him some weaning bits for his stocking (he has so many toys already bought for him and hand me downs. One thing I will remember is to try new things on a morning. With my daughter I tried her with egg late one afternoon. She had a reaction to it and an ambulance had to be sent to take us up to hospital as she had an allergic reaction.. we were there most of the night. I know that's rare but thought it was worth mentioning. X

I started my first baby at exactly 6 months, this one seems very interested in food already and she’s 5 months today. I’m just waiting for her to have better head control and hand to mouth coordination as she’s still a bit wobbly, so I reckon she could be ready in 2-3 weeks. I’m not in any rush though, I hate weaning! I just have a feeling she might start snatching food off me 😂 also getting her weaning bits for Christmas but we’ll be doing baby led weaning so I’ll just bung a few bits of broccoli etc on the highchair at first.
