Gestational diabetes.

Hoping someone will have the answer for me here. Will the NHS test for gestational diabetes before 28 weeks? I'm nearly 17 weeks and could tick off nearly every symptom. I didn't have it in my first pregnancy but diabetes runs in my family so I've been listed as higher risk for it. Any advice appreciated. TIA x

I think if you have history of gestational diabetes in your family then they do the test about 25 wks. My mum had it when she was pregnant with me and so I have to go in for the test at 25wks. I’m sure if you chat with your midwife about it then they can book you in for the test x

@Esme ah really? They've got me booked in for 28 weeks at the minute. I have an appointment on Monday so I'll see what they say. Thanks for replying 😊x

Diabetes run in my family and I had a test at 16 weeks & 28 weeks on both pregnancies!🫶🏻definitely ask xx
